10K cross country style race starting at Dalemain Country House. The route follows a figure eight loop around surrounding fields, tracks and roads through Dacre and back to the Country House.
The weather was changeable, from sleet to rain to sunshine within a few minutes. I ran this race last year when it started in Dacre, so a slightly different route this year and it seemed like a much larger field.
A very steep start across fields was pretty energy sapping, stiles offered a welcome break and of course it was extremely muddy. It’s a great route although I found it pretty tough on the day.
A pot of Marmalade at the finish made it worthwhile!
