After an enjoyable couple of days in rainy rhubarb country, we returned home to Cumbria where yet again, the water is rising. Following a day off yesterday wandering about The Shambles and city walls of York, we did need to squeeze a run in.
I’ve been full of cold for the past two days and woke up feeling no better. So I decided not to make use of the hotel’s treadmill and see how I felt later on. I did improve as the day went on, helped by vegetable soup and a rubbish movie.
Ed waited until I was just about settled in for the night and suggested that we jog down to the shop and back (just under 6 miles total) to get some supplies in. So, wrapped up warm, with head torches on we set off. The temperature had dropped and although dry (a lot of groundwater) it was windy.
